The seniors and reserves were beaten by Killyman on Saturday. Both teams are away to Fintona on Tuesday with the reserve game at 6.30pm while the senior game starts at 7.30pm. Well done to Sinead, Neamh, the Tyrone ladies, physio Ciara and indeed the merry band of supporters upon their outstanding victory over Cork at the weekend. They did the club and county proud. Well done also to the under eight player of the week Ronan Campbell. There is an under eight blitz at Clanabogan this Saturday. All players are to be at the pitch at 9.45am. Under eight and under ten training takes place every Tuesday evening from 6.30pm to 7.30pm at the training pitch. There will be showcase of our youth's talents on the pitch with some mini games being played at 11am and the club's Gaelic 4 Mothers teams will also be on show at 11am. Sport NI officials will be present at the pitch for the opening of the clubrooms and parents and players are all invited along to witness the showcase of the club's young and perhaps not so young players! The 25 mile cycle and five-mile fun cycle registration will commence at 11am with cyclists leaving at 12noon sharp. Children are invited to participate in the five mile cycle too and this will be stewarded with a refreshment stop half way. The annual BBQ will be held on Saturday night from 8pm. Music is by the band Our Dog Had Pups and everyone is invited along for a good evening's fun. Sunday morning starts early with a car boot sale at 10am. The fun day will then begin at 2pm with new attractions to ensure all the family are kept amused for the afternoon. The Down Kildare match will also be televised in the marquee so please ensure everyone comes along for an afternoon's fun and games! On Saturday September 25 the Lynch’s Vivo 10k Run/5k Fun Run will take place and details can be obtained from the website including Stevie Duncan's training tips. Sympathy is extended to the Mullan and McGurk families upon the death of Mairead and also to the Sharkey family upon the death of Sean. This week's winning Club Drumragh lotto letters were A I T X Z. The season drew to an end last week for our seniors. After a year of mixed results with a very youthful side the girls can use this year as a stepping stone and build on this for next year, hopefully having maintained Division 3 status. The ladies would like to extend their appreciation to Cathal, Niall and Kevin for their efforts and commitment throughout the year. Seniors will continue training every Thursday at Clanabogan at 7.30pm. The under 16s are home on to Pomeroy on Monday. Details will be available at training tonight (Thursday). The under 10s played their last blitz of the 2010 season on Saturday finishing with a flurry of wins when they travelled to St Macartans. The coaches would like to thank all the girls for the commitment and hard work this season and to all parents who helped out with transport throughout the year. The committee would also like to thank Sinead and Rachel for their dedication to the under 10s and hope they will continue next year. Under 10 and under 12 training continues Saturday mornings from 10.30am to 11.30am. We wish a speedy recovery to Marion. Club events approaching are the Carnival weekend on August 27 to 29 August including Cycle, BBQ and Sports and the 10k/5k run on Saturday September 25. |
